How to Make Watermelon Christmas Trees
Start by using a large knife to cut your watermelon into a couple of thick slices.
Our slices where about 1 inch thick, which makes it possible to stand them up.
Then cut the slices into 8 even pieces but cutting in half, and then in half the other way.
Continuing until you have 8 triangle shaped pieces of watermelon.
Once you have your slices, create a tree trunk for each your Watermelon tree by cutting our a sqaure in the center of the rind.
Be sure to flatten the base of the tree "stem" so that you can stand the trees up, like shown below.
Next, fill a piping bag, or Ziplock bag with your Greek yogurt. If you're using a bag snip the corner off to allow you to "pipe" designs onto the trees.
And that's it. Repeat with a second slice of watermelon to create even more cute little watermelon Christmas trees.
Make sure to chill them in the fridge to chill and remove right before serving.
This little healthy Christmas treat will sure to get anyone in the Merry Christmas spirit.
If have a large Christmas tree cookie cutter, you could also try using that to create the shapes around the rind of the watermelon slice.
I haven't tried this technique, but I'm sure it would work great as well.
Top Tips
