How to Make Instant Pot Mashed Potatoes
Making your mashed potatoes in an instant pot is really easy!
Start by selecting fresh potatoes. Peel and rinse your potatoes.

Then place the water and a teaspoon of salt into the Instant pot.
Place a basket or trivet linter and add in your whole, peeled potatoes.

Now, close and seal the Instant Pot lid. Set the pressure to high and the timer to 20 minutes.
Once your 20 minutes are done, hit cancel and allow the pressure to naturally release. (The valve will fall down.)
Once the pressure has fully released, carefully remove the baskey of potatoes out of the Instant pot.
Drain the remaining water out of the Instant Pot.
Once your pot is empty again, fill it back up with the cooked potatoes. (You could also use a large bowl for this step.)
Mash the potatoes with a hand masher or a hand held mixer, while adding your warm half and half and melted butter to make it nice and creamy.

Now you can either mix in the remaining ingredients, or just top off your individual servings of mashed potatoes with the loaded ingredients.

Yum!
This is one of our favorite sides for Thanksgiving.
