- Crowd Pleaser: A hit at any event, these egg rolls are as fun to eat as they are to make.
Ingredients

Ground Beef: The star of any cheeseburger, we're using it in these egg rolls for that hearty, juicy bite. We used ground beef, but feel free to use ground turkey or chicken - your call!
Bacon: Everything's better with bacon. It adds a savory smokiness that makes these egg rolls irresistible.
Onion & Garlic: These aromatic wonders bring out the savory depth of the meat and bacon, balancing the richness perfectly.
Cheese: Ooey-gooey, melted cheese - need we say more? It's the soul of any good cheeseburger. Choose a cheese that melts well, like cheddar cheese or mozzarella. We used shredded mozzarella.
Egg Roll Wrappers: To wrap up our juicy hamburger filling.
Seasonings: The secret to truly amazing beef egg rolls is in the seasoning. We're using a mix of classic all-purpose seasoning, chili, garlic and onion powders, paprika, kosher salt, and white pepper.
Ketchup and BBQ Sauce: These two condiments add a tangy sweetness that complements the savory, and umami flavors.
Equipment
You'll need a Frying Pan for most of the cooking, so be sure it's a good quality one that distributes heat evenly.
A Medium-Sized Bowl is used for mixing the filling. You can also use a large bowl if you're doubling the recipe.
A Spoon and Measuring Spoons for stirring and measuring ingredients. Precise measurements lead to delicious results, every time!
Instructions
Start by getting your skillet hot and ready. Add in your bacon and let it sizzle until it's crispy and golden.

Remove the bacon and let it cool down. In the bacon grease left behind, toss in the diced onions and garlic.
Sautee them until the onions turn a beautiful translucent shade, but remember to keep them moving so they don't burn.

Remove the onions from the heat and set aside in a bowl for later.
Now, it's time for the ground meat to enter the fray. Cook it till it's browned, then add the aromatic onion-garlic duo and the vibrant blend of seasonings.

Once the ground beef is cooked drain the meat. Then add back in the cooked onions and all of the dry spices and stir it up to ensure everything is perfectly mixed.

For a touch of tangy sweetness, add in ketchup and BBQ sauce at this point.

Chop up the bacon, and shred the cheese and set aside. Remove the ground beef mixture from the heat and set aside in a bow.
Clean out your pan as we'll be using this to fry our egg rolls. Fill it half way with your cooking oil and preheat it while you assemble your egg rolls.
Now for the fun part. Rolling the egg rolls!
Lay the meat filling diagonally on the egg roll wrapper.

Add the mozzarella or cheddar cheese and bacon crumbles.

Then fold up the bottom corner over the filling.

Roll snuggly halfway to cover the filling and fold in at both sides, tight against the hamburger filling.
Use a small amount of water to moisten the edges of the flap.

Roll the wrapper up and seal the top corner and lay flat side down until you are ready to fry them.

By the time you've rolled up all of your egg rolls, the oil should be hot enough to fry in.
Fry the egg rolls for 2-3 minutes on each side.
Once the edges are golden, flip them and fry the other side.
Remove from the oil and let them drain on a paper towel.
And voila! Your cheeseburger egg rolls are ready to rock your taste buds.

Top Tips
Cook the meat thoroughly: Undercooked meat not only poses health risks, but it also greatly impacts the flavor and texture of your cheeseburger egg rolls. Ensure your ground meat is well cooked before you proceed with the rest of the recipe.
Be patient when rolling the egg rolls: This is a crucial step that can make or break your recipe. Make sure the edges are well sealed to prevent the filling from spilling out during frying. Using a little water to moisten the edges can help create a better seal.
Control your heat during frying: The heat of the oil is essential in achieving that perfect golden-brown exterior. Too hot, and the egg rolls will quickly burn on the outside while remaining undercooked on the inside. Too low, and they may become too greasy. Aim for a medium-high heat for the best results.
Drain your egg rolls well after frying: After frying your egg rolls, make sure to drain them on paper towels to remove excess oil. This not only makes them healthier but also helps maintain their crispy texture.
Substitutions
- You can substitute ground meat with plant-based alternatives for a vegetarian version.

For parties or appetizers, I would do thinner eggrolls using only one egg roll wrapper. For dinner or a meal, I would make them a little thicker and wrap them in two wrappers.

Storage Instructions
These Cheeseburger Egg Rolls are best enjoyed fresh, but if you find yourself with leftovers, here's how you can store them:
Refrigerating: Cool the egg rolls completely before storing to prevent condensation build-up. Place them in an airtight container and store in the refrigerator for up to 3-4 days.
Freezing: To freeze your egg rolls, first, allow them to cool completely. Then, place them in a single layer on a baking sheet and freeze for about 2 hours. Once frozen, transfer them to a freezer-safe bag or container. They can be frozen for up to 2-3 months.
Reheating: To reheat your egg rolls while preserving their crispiness, preheat your oven or air fryer to 375°F (190°C). Place the egg rolls on a baking sheet and heat for 10-15 minutes if refrigerated, or 15-20 minutes if frozen, turning them halfway through. Be sure to keep an eye on them to prevent burning. It's best to avoid using a microwave for reheating, as it tends to make the egg rolls soggy.
We hope you enjoy these cheeseburger egg rolls as much as we do! And have fun customizing them to suit your preferences.
