Ingredients

Breakfast sausage: Opt for high-quality, flavorful sausage to ensure the base of your pizza is rich and hearty.
Flour: Just a touch to thicken the gravy, ensuring a thick pizza sauce base.
Salt & Ground black pepper: Essential seasonings to enhance the overall flavor of the gravy.
Milk: The creamy base of your gravy, choose full-fat for richness or a lighter version for a less indulgent option.
Mozzarella cheese: Choose a good melt-quality mozzarella for that gooey, cheesy topping. Opt for a block of whole mozzarella and shred it yourself for the freshest, meltiest cheese topping. Cheddar cheese works great too!
Crescent rolls: The secret to a quick, flaky, and buttery crust. Look for fresh, refrigerated cans for the best results.
Equipment
- Skillet: A medium to large skillet is key for cooking the sausage and creating the gravy.
- Baking Sheet: Necessary for assembling and baking your pizza, ensuring it cooks evenly.
- Parchment Paper: Helps prevent sticking and ensures easy cleanup.
Instructions
Making breakfast pizza is one of my favorite activities to do with the kids to bond in the morning.
to begin, preheat your oven to 350°F and line your baking sheet with parchment paper for easy cleanup.
Heat a skillet over a medium flame and crumble in the sausage, letting it sizzle and brown.
Sprinkle in flour, salt, and pepper, stirring well to coat the sausage evenly, ensuring every bite is packed with flavor.

Pour in the milk gradually over the cooked sausage, stirring constantly to blend it seamlessly with the flour and sausage, creating a thick, creamy gravy.
Allow the mixture to bubble gently, stirring as it thickens into a rich, flavorful base for your topping.
Once thickened, fold in the shredded cheese, watching it melt into the gravy, adding a layer of gooey, cheesy goodness.
Set your skillet aside, letting the flavors meld together off the heat.
Lay out the crescent rolls on a parchment-lined baking sheet, pressing the seams together to form a single cohesive layer. This will be the pizza crust.

Spread the sausage gravy evenly over the crust, all the way to the edges, ensuring every slice will be equally delicious.

Bake in the preheated oven until the crust puffs up and turns a beautiful golden brown, a sight that's sure to make mouths water.

Let it cool slightly, then slice into generous pieces and watch them disappear!

Top Tip
For the perfect Breakfast Pizza, ensure your sausage gravy is thick enough before spreading it on the dough; it should be creamy but not runny, to prevent a soggy crust.

Storage Instructions
If you have leftover breakfast pizza to store, here's our tips.
Fridge Storage: Keep leftover pizza in an airtight container, refrigerated, for up to 3 days. Reheat in the oven or microwave until warm.
Freezer Option: Not recommended for freezing as the crust may become soggy upon reheating.
Reheating: Warm in a preheated oven or toaster oven at 350°F until heated through, preserving the crust's crispiness.
What to Serve with
- Hash Browns: A crunchy favorite, hash browns offer a crispy contrast to the soft, flavorful pizza. They’re simple to prepare and bring a satisfying texture to the breakfast table.
- Fresh Fruit Salad: Balance the savory pizza with a light, colorful fruit salad. Combine seasonal fruits for a sweet, refreshing side that cleanses the palate and adds a nutritious touch.
- Soft Scrambled Eggs: Creamy and comforting, soft scrambled eggs pair beautifully with the hearty pizza. They’re quick to make and add a great protein to go with the breakfast pizza.
