- Customizable: Feel free to tweak the recipe to your liking – change up the type of lettuce, or swap out the mayo for your favorite condiment.
- Perfect for Parties: Their size makes them ideal for gatherings where guests can easily grab and go.
- Deliciously Balanced: The combination of flavors and textures – crispy bacon, fresh veggies, creamy mayo, and soft buns – is simply irresistible.
Ingredients

Slider Rolls: You can use regular dinner rolls or Hawaiian rolls for a sweet twist. They're soft and just the right size for a couple of bites. Look for fresh, soft at your local bakery or grocery store.
Thick Cut Bacon: Go for the thick-cut kind. It's super flavorful and gives a nice crunch. Cook it until it's crispy but not burnt.
Mayonnaise: This creamy spread adds moisture and a bit of tanginess. You can use your favorite brand or even make your own if you're feeling adventurous!
Roma Tomatoes: These are a type of tomato that's a bit firmer, making them perfect for slicing. They add a fresh and juicy element to the slider.
Iceberg Lettuce: Chopped Iceberg lettuce is crunchy and light. It adds a nice, cool texture. You can also use other types of lettuce if you like like green leaf lettuce.
Cherry Tomatoes (Optional): These are for garnish. They're sweet and add a pop of color.
Kale (Optional): Also for garnish. It adds a bit of green and makes your sliders look even more appetizing.
Toothpicks (Optional): These are handy if you're adding the cherry tomato and kale garnish. They hold everything together and make the sliders easy to pick up and eat.
Equipment
- Oven: Essential for toasting the buns to perfection.
- Knife: A sharp knife is crucial for evenly slicing the tomatoes and halving the rolls.
- Toothpicks (Optional): For a decorative touch, especially if adding cherry tomatoes and kale as garnish.
- Baking Sheet: Needed for toasting the buns in the oven.
- Alternative: If you don’t have a toaster oven, you can toast the buns in a regular oven or even on a stovetop grill pan.
Instructions
Preheat and Prepare: Start by preheating your oven to 350°F. Then, slice the slider rolls horizontally to separate the tops and bottoms.

Toast the Buns: Place the separated rolls on a baking sheet and toast in the oven for 5-7 minutes, or until they reach your preferred level of crispiness.

Spread the Mayo: Once toasted, spread about a tablespoon of mayo on the underside of each top bun. You can be generous or light with the mayo depending on your taste.

Assemble the Tomatoes and Bacon: Place a slice of tomato on each bottom bun, followed by two halves of bacon.

Add Lettuce: Top the bacon with a generous amount of shredded iceberg lettuce.

Final Assembly: Place the top buns onto the bottoms and, if using, garnish each slider with a toothpick skewered with a cherry tomato and kale leaf.
Serve: Separate the sliders for easy grabbing and enjoy immediately for the best taste and texture.

Top Tips
Perfect Your Bacon: The bacon is a star player in these sliders, so make sure it's cooked just right. Aim for crispy, but not too hard or burnt. Cooking it in the oven on a baking sheet at around 400°F (200°C) can give you evenly cooked, crispy bacon without the mess.
Toast Your Buns: Toasting the slider buns is a game-changer. It not only adds a nice crunch but also prevents the buns from getting soggy from the mayo and tomato juices. Just a few minutes in the oven or on a skillet until they're lightly golden does the trick.
Fresh Ingredients Matter: Use fresh, ripe tomatoes and crisp lettuce. The quality of these ingredients really shines through in such a simple sandwich. If your tomatoes are in season and your lettuce is crunchy, your sliders will taste so much better.

Substitutions
Turkey Bacon: If you prefer, you can substitute regular bacon with turkey bacon.
Different Condiments: Replace mayo with pesto, aioli, or your favorite sandwich spread. Ranch would be delicious here! I prefer a little dijon mustard though.
Different Lettuce Varieties: Feel free to use romaine or butter lettuce instead of iceberg for a different texture.
Beefsteak Tomatoes: If you don’t have Roma tomatoes, beefsteak tomatoes are a good substitute; just slice them thin.
Variations
- Cheese BLT Sliders: Add a slice of cheddar or Swiss cheese on top of the bacon for a cheesy twist.
- Honey Mustard BLT Sliders: Swap out the mayo for honey mustard to add a sweet and tangy flavor.
- BBQ Bacon BLT Sliders: Brush your bacon with a little BBQ sauce before cooking for a smoky, tangy flavor.
- Spicy BLT Sliders: Add a few slices of jalapeño or a dash of hot sauce for a spicy kick.
- Avocado BLT Sliders: Incorporate slices of avocado or a dollop of guacamole for a creamy twist.

Notes

Storage Instructions
Have leftover sliders to store?
Refrigerator: Store any leftover sliders in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 4 days.
Freezer: Freezing is not recommended, as the lettuce and tomato lose their texture.
Reheating: If needed, reheat in the oven or toaster oven to maintain the texture of the buns. Avoid microwaving as it can make the buns soggy.
